PGSS truly opened up my eyes to the degree of potential and talent in people my age. I grew up in a small town and went to a good but not particularly inspiring public high school. I bonded with the govies at PGSS more than I ever had with anyone in high school, worked harder than I ever had before, and had more fun doing so than I could have imagined possible. It’s difficult to quantify in words how theexperience of working collaboratively with brilliant future scientists with such a pure passion for learning and knowledge. I learned more from my fellow govies in five weeks than I did at any point in high school. PGSS sealed my resolve to pursue a career in the sciences.
