Karen Van Dusen

Karen Van Dusen

Karen was a member of the inaugural class of PGSS at Carnegie Mellon University in 1982 (PSS in that first year) and returned to CMU for her undergraduate degree in Applied Math and Computer Science. She also holds an MBA from the Tepper School.

Karen has been vocal about the role that PGSS and CMU played in changing the trajectory of her life as a high school student from an rural area with little access to advanced STEM resources.  Starting her career in IT support management at Dartmouth College and Duke University, Karen returned to her alma mater in 1993 and has worked since that time in many roles dedicated to supporting the university’s teaching, research, and community missions via IT services and systems.
